Changing the template

I argue that changing the template at the start of the article to something similar to the, for example, 2023 Polish parliamentary election, or the Serbian article on the 2023 Serbian parliamentary election, would be more informative and better. Labonio (talk) 20:12, 12 November 2023 (UTC)

A very bad idea IMO, as it would not be possible to fit all the parties, plus a huge amount of space would be taken up by unnecessary images of party leaders. It would be preferable for the Polish one to be changed to the one used in this article. Cheers, Number 57 20:50, 12 November 2023 (UTC)

I second Number 57's reasoning but I just want to add that the usage of {{Infobox legislative election}} was already agreed on years ago on this talk page. {{Infobox election}} is incompatible with the Serbian system (special threshold for minorities, large amount of electoral lists crossing the threshold, and {{Infobox election}} also takes a lot of space which can be otherwise fit perfectly with {{Infobox legislative election}}). Serbia Against Violence

Why isn't the Serbia Against Violence (coalition) shown in the infobox when the SNS coalition is? It's predecessor of United for the Victory of Serbia is shown in the previous 2022 Serbian general election page. ZlatanSweden10 (talk) 22:07, 12 December 2023 (UTC)

Can somebody update the map? Requesting one more small update. SPS won the most votes in the Municipality of Peć, not SNS. According to RIK's official website, all of the votes there have been counted, and SPS won 257 votes versus SNS's 206. 79.140.150.32 (talk) 23:10, 19 December 2023 (UTC)

Seats change numbers and length of the page

There are problems with the seats change numbers. Difference with results below and above and not correct with last election. Somebody should check it who has knowledge of the situation. Also the page is far too large. A lot can be deleted. Jobfr (talk) 16:36, 18 December 2023 (UTC)

The seat change is correct. SNS won 120 seats in 2022, thus it gained 8 now, SPN did not exist last year but all of its members contested the 2022 election: UZPS (without Narodna) 26, Moramo 13, Parandilović 1, SPS-JS-ZS won 31, thus it lost 13, NADA won 15, thus it lost 2 now, National Gathering did not exist last year but all of its members contested the 2022 election: SSZ 10, Dveri 6, VMSZ won 5 seats last year, thus it gained one now, Narodna took part as UZPS and won 12 seats, now it did not cross the threshold alone and lost all of its seats it won in 2022.

I'd rather not delete anything that is currently in the article, considering that everything that is in it is quite useful for readers and removing parts of the article will only mess up the article, instead of improving it. I could only consider splitting the Campaign section as a separate article, considering that it's the longest, and only having a summary of the campaign in the main article. The article currently has 10,621 words and per WP:SIZERULE articles with >9,000 words should probably be divided or trimmed, although the scope of a topic can sometimes justify the added reading material. I'll wait what others say about splitting the campaign section in a separate article, until then the article should remain as it is. Vacant0 (talk) 16:56, 18 December 2023 (UTC)

Rigged

Elections are rigged. You should not write this article, like everything is normal. There are so many cases of fictive voters, "bulgarian train" (Google it), payed voters from other country(!?), and so much more... Investigate a little before posting. Map removed per WP:POV

I removed the map (File:2023 Serbian parliamentary election detailed map.svg) because it contains a WP:POV depiction of Kosovo. The 2023 Serbian elections did not take place in Kosovo anyway. Please remove, or at least grey-out Kosovo in the next upload. Uniacademic (talk) 17:10, 8 January 2024 (UTC)

I disagree, for the following reasons:

1) Depicting Kosovo in political maps of Serbia's election is a tradition, and not a precedent, with many examples on this very Wikipedia.

2) Even though the people did not vote in Kosovo, as it was banned by Pristina, they traveled to Central Serbia to vote, and their votes were recorded.

3) Kosovo's Serbians' votes are significant, as they show a strong support for the SNS: greying out Kosovo hides a significant part of Serbians' political geography.

4) Serbia uses a single list with direct proportional representation for parties with more than 3% of the vote (excluding minority parties, which don't have a threshold): excluding Kosovo paints an incorrect picture of a correlation between votes and seats in the Parliament.

Given that, maybe I could translate the map, keep Kosovo on the map and add a note about Kosovo's status?
