The new medal table edit

@81.41.173.225: I've seen your recent edit of the Medal table section. While I personally don't object to adding more medal tables, I do think that if one as this would be added it should be transposed for scalability, placing the weight classes in columns and countries in rows. @Simeon, Almagestas, and Alberto 1105: What do you say? I agree that transposing the table would be a better way to present the information. But, I'm not sure we need the table in the first place because this is more in the realm of "analysing the data in detail". If a reader wants a breakdown of medals per weight class, per gender and per country they can do that themselves; I would say it's not really encyclopedic information to have such tables - the medalists and the medal table are sufficient for most readers and for most purposes. Thanks for responding. I usually side with keeping information that is verifiable, but understand that my fondness of tables is on the far end of the community. I won't die on the hill of keeping the new table (that would have to be changed if kept), but not sure I see a value in removing it. CLalgo (talk) 13:23, 17 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I'm ok with transposing the table and keeping it, if that's what others prefer. But if it was removed, I wouldn't see a strong need to add it back. I think transposing the table is also better because for any gender/weight class combination, there are only four values and those can already be easily seen in the medalists table. So, analysing the information per country is really what this table adds. Simeon (talk) 13:38, 17 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
