2020 Tablighi Jamaat coronavirus hotspot in Delhi2020 Tablighi Jamaat coronavirus hotspots in Asia – Some editors on Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2020 Tablighi Jamaat coronavirus hotspot in Delhi have said that the title of the article should be changed. I agree with that because Tablighi Jamaat coronavirus hotspots have been also discovered in Brunei[1], Malaysia[2], Pakistan[3][4][5] and maybe others too.

Article size is also just 41k bytes right now. We can mention about these places on lead, also every other section that has been already created. Thus the article will cover other notable events and would be no longer limited to Delhi, India. Tessaracter (talk) 17:52, 7 April 2020 (UTC)

  • Oppose - It is not really practical to change the scope of an article like that. Nor is it the purpose of a WP:RM to change scope in that way. There is likely to be varying amounts of information available about the different locations, and varying levels of impact they might have had on their respective countries. You would end up with a haphazard article that becomes pointless. It would be fine to start a new article on the proposed topic, and if it is successful, a request for merge for this page can be made. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 18:42, 7 April 2020 (UTC)
    • What is your suggestion then? Do you want to keep it restricted to India? or the sub-continent?--Rsrikanth05 (talk)
      • This page is fine as it is, even though the information available is very hazy. For the other countries, I recommended a new article. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 20:15, 7 April 2020 (UTC)
  • page mover comment: this RM discussion is a tad premature. It should have opened after the AfD was closed. —usernamekiran (talk) 22:28, 7 April 2020 (UTC)
  • Oppose as per Kautilya3 - Aaqib Anjum Aafī (talk) 23:19, 7 April 2020 (UTC)
More that AfD is still open and thus this merge discussion here is a complete violation. I assume it is meant only to demean Tablighi Jamaat. Let's wait for a clear consensus at AfD and see what is to be done, it'll be decided there. If you are concerned to add all events in a single article; then there must be single article on Corona virus hotspots and only it should have all the details including the non-Tabligh Jamaat events which added to the virus. Why do we have so many then? We can have a single one and add this Tablighi-Jamat Coronavirus controversy therein. - Aaqib Anjum Aafī (talk) 23:26, 7 April 2020 (UTC)
The AfD has now been closed. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 13:13, 8 April 2020 (UTC) Apparently it's back for business. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 22:50, 8 April 2020 (UTC)
There have been other similar hotspots in Kualalampur, Lahore etc. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 12:51, 8 April 2020 (UTC)
My suggestion would've been to add a disambiguation page for all hotspots and then there be page for every hotspot? I think, it isn't okay. The hotspots should be made per country. Say for example; Hotspots in India and there be information related to every hotpot therein. Are we going to have 10 different articles for 10 different hotpots? Regards - Aaqib Anjum Aafī (talk) 13:51, 8 April 2020 (UTC)
There may or may not be need for articles on other hotspots. In the Indian context it seems reasonable to have one because India was already in lockdown and very consciously trying to control the spread of the virus, while this hotspot seemed to be counteracting it. In other countries, the situation is different. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 14:35, 8 April 2020 (UTC)
  • Comment we now have 2020 Tablighi Jamaat coronavirus hotspot in Pakistan. --Saqib (talk) 16:14, 8 April 2020 (UTC)
  • Oppose As such there is not much stuff to support "Asian" angle. There could be Tablighi gatherings which have or are believed to have contributed to the spread of Covid19, but these can be part of the article on the pandemic spread in that nation / region. --Hindustanilanguage (talk) 19:52, 8 April 2020 (UTC)
  • Comment Give the Pakistan article a day or two and see where it leads. If it doesn't expand too much consider merging it here and renaming this to Asia or South Asia. In the meantime, I'd recommend this article be targeted towards India instead. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 22:49, 8 April 2020 (UTC)
  • Oppose This is an Epidemic where every individual are struggling to safe them self. Please don't be like India Islamophobic media and try to target to any community or religion. Rashid Jorvee (talk) 08:01, 9 April 2020 (UTC)
    • How is it Islamophobic? The discussion is replace Delhi in the article title to Asia. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 18:21, 9 April 2020 (UTC)
  • Oppose There is too much valuable India-specific information here which would be lost in a larger article. Veryhuman (talk) 02:40, 18 April 2020 (UTC)
  • Oppose This article specifically talks about the events that occurred in Delhi, India. Any attempt to merge it with other events are at best malicious. Too much information specific to the Delhi outbreak will be lost if it is merged to some blanket article representing Asia. Sujal wiki (talk) 04:39, 18 April 2020 (UTC)

Oppose. This is happening to spread hatred against a perticular community.. In India only Corona viruse communalised and it is very hard to digest that we are busy in denigrating a perticular community... Also by circulating fake news and writing articles with adding some fake propagandas.. We are focusing on mistake done by them only.. It's humble request please remove this article...
