2013–14 Liga MX season → 2013–14 Liga MX – The article naming convention for Association football leagues is YEAR LEAGUE. The word season is not used. These article titles should remain consistent. Examples: 2013–14 Premier League, 2013–14 La Liga, 2013–14 Bundesliga, 2013–14 Ligue 1, 2013 Campeonato Brasileiro Série A. Relisted. • Alternative: Rename all other season articles inatead to be consistent with how other sports are named, instead of a localconsensus for association football. -- 70.24.244.158 (talk) 06:29, 6 September 2013 (UTC)
• Comment: The addition of the word season covers non-championship events like all-star games or events outside the normal championship such as performances of Liga teams in other multi-jurisdictional leagues, like CONCACAF Champions League. • Comment - While most season articles for association football are named "YEAR LEAGUE", that is not the case in the US where they are named "YEAR LEAGUE season". I don't see any reason to change either, but it could be argued that Mexican seasons should be consistent with their American neighbors. Mentoz86 (talk) 13:05, 13 September 2013 (UTC)

• The reason for the US having that convention is because there is an end-of-season playoff championship, whereas in Mexico there is not. As MOS says, if "the season is decided by a knock-out tournament after the conclusion of the regular season (e.g. Major League Soccer, Australian A-League), the word "season" should be attached to the title" - but not for normal seasons. What are you basing your "Mexican seasons should be consistent with their American neighbors" comment on, other than the fact the two countries share a border? • @Mentoz86: this argument does not convince me. I could easily say Mexico's Liga MX and its European league counterparts should have consistent naming conventions considering they call the sport football and not soccer. --MicroX (talk) 19:54, 13 September 2013 (UTC)

• Comment : What the football project MOS actually says is that "If there are two separate championships played over the course of one season (for example, in many Latin American countries with their Apertura/Clausura system) OR the season is decided by a knock-out tournament after the conclusion of the regular season (e.g. Major League Soccer, Australian A-League), the word "season" should be attached to the title." • Oppose The consistency argument is a good one, but not all articles are the same, even soccer articles. As a Mexican league with close proximity to the United States , the Liga MX articles tend to favor US writing styles. Many fans of the league who edit the English Wikipedia, myself included, are from the United States, so there will tend to be a bit of a bias toward US styles like adding "season". As such, unless there is a guideline that says the current title is incorrect, I do t see any reason to change it. JOJ ^Hutton 21:38, 17 September 2013 (UTC)

This needs to be updated. When in hell are the games for the final? You people sit around here and debate whether you should call it a "season: or whatever else.
