The Israeli swimmers edit

have arrived in Dubai ([1], text in Hebrew, but the photos should be understandable). 147.237.70.108 (talk) 15:48, 14 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

That's good but I still think the article should talk about the United Arab Emirates unfair treatment of the Israelis swimmers.68.5.214.41 (talk) 02:13, 15 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Prelim results edit

Note: It appears that not all the preliminary heat results have been entered. Only entered are what advanced to the next round. This lack of all results is also not noted on any of the event pages. Hooperswim (talk) 14:41, 13 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Example: 2010 FINA World Swimming Championships (25 m) – Women's 400 metre individual medley, this is listed at the top of the preliminary results: 28 swimmers participated in 4 heats, qualified swimmers are listed: Isn´t that enough? Kante4 (talk) 15:58, 13 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
Not really. Why list the top-8/people who advance and not list all of the results? The same is not being done for the semifinals. And there will be people who finish outside the qualifiers (and whoever gets scratched in) that will be noteworthy (e.g. Continental/National Records, first-ever participation in an international event for the country, up-and-coming athletes, ones that have a bad swim, etc.). This is particularly helpful in events where the results will disappear offline after a year or 2 (e.g. the 2004 Olympics). Hooperswim (talk) 16:59, 13 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
It would improve the articles if all the results were listed but it will be a huge task.138.162.140.52 (talk) 20:18, 13 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
This I know. It's part of what I spend time doing. Hooperswim (talk) 16:48, 14 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

I've started inserting an Template:Expand list tag into the prelims (I've looked at about half the events, and they all need it). -- Hooperswim (talk) 22:10, 23 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

expand list tag has been placed onto all the event pages (none of them currently have full prelims results). -- Hooperswim (talk) 19:56, 24 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Short Course Worlds are not just "World Championships" edit

Please note, the "FINA World Swimming Championships (25m)" can be shorted to "Short Course Worlds", but should not be shortened to just "World Championships". The term "World Championships" in swimming/FINA, means the event that features all 5 Aquatics disciplines, not just Swimming. (There's also the long course versus short course difference, differences in history, etc.) For example:
