Categories - year issue for "XXXX in curling" edit

Currently this is in both Category:2008 in curling and Category:2009 in curling - I am assuming this is because it took place in 2008, but was considered the 2009 tournament. However 2015 United States Mixed Doubles Curling Championship is only in Category:2014 in curling ie only the category relating to the year it actually took place. There seems to be inconsistency about how this is handled over a few of these articles - some follow the approach here, others the 2015 example, so I thought I would flag it up here for discussion to see if we could get consensus on this and apply consistency across the articles.
