The Article on the Shaanxi Y-8 claims that the accident June 3 2006 accident in China was a KJ-200 AWACS, based on the Y-8 airframe. The IL-76 article claims the same accident was a IL-76 based KJ-2000. It cannot be both.Hudicourt 16:23, 18 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

The Japanese wikipedia article points out the possiblity that it was not a known type of KJ-200 AWACS, but one with a new experimental type of rotor-dome radar that crashed. It would have looked like a larger version of E-2C.--Revth 08:11, 28 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

If one skips the early articles that were published right after the June 2006 articles and looks strictly at late 2006 and 2007 articles, no more mention is ever made of a KJ-2000. Although the Chinese authorities have never officially acknowledged that the downed aircraft was a KJ-200, the defence publication that covered the crash all now concur that it involved a KJ-200 Hudicourt (talk) 17:07, 16 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
