Film trends edit

Should there be something about the massive trend in Hollywood towards releasing sequels (Live Free or Die Hard, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull), prequels (Star Wars), remakes (War of the Worlds, The Invasion, The Manchurian Candidate), reboots (The Sum of All Fears, Batman Begins, Casino Royale) or adaptations (Transformers and Dukes of Hazzard from TV, X-Men, Spiderman, Iron Man from comics, Lord of the Rings from novels), rather than original work? And most of these are throwbacks to earlier decades, not simply a continuation of films or products from the nineties. Seems like a retro trend in filmmaking that's worth mentioning in my opinon. 147.9.201.154 (talk) 21:04, 6 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

I agree! 2000s in film is remakes in film. We just have to find some good sources for that. Ran4 (talk) 09:35, 8 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
Also the trend for reboots - is this something that has happened more in 2000s? (Indeed, have there been any reboots in film before 2000?) Mdwh (talk) 22:42, 4 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Early 2000s direct-to-video animated sequels produced by DisneyToon Studios edit

Any theatrical releases of animated features were produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation in the early 2000s, but not included direct-to-video animated sequels produced by DisneyToon Studios (such as The Little Mermaid II and Cinderella II), the first Disney animated film to be first theatrical release in the 2000s decade was Fantasia 2000 (1999), the sequel to the 1940 classic Fantasia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.0.238.12 (talk) 23:50, 15 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
