Copyrighted text edit

I am currently contacting Global Security.org about the copyright issue. It seems they have posted on thier site a version of our uits history that we have on file. Their version contains some infomation that ours does not and ours contains more recent information. I am not sure if our unit copied the information from Globalsecurity.org and edited it or if their site somehow got a hold of one of the early revisions of the document. If the later is the case they would not hold the copyright to the information as they claim. Redfox1-120FA (talk) 15:45, 2 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Recieved a reply e-mail from John Pike - Owener of GlobalSecurity.org stating "sure, you may use it as described" in response to the "Or you could send us an official looking e-mail saying you grant us use of the information you copyrighted that might work too." sentence listed above. I believe this should be adequate enought to remove the flag. Redfox1-120FA (talk) 20:25, 7 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • No, I'm sorry, but it's not. They need to send their e-mail to the Wikimedia Foundation, following which an OTRS agent will process and log it, if sufficient. The article should not be edited until an OTRS agent or administrator has verified the permission. You may wish to direct them to Wikipedia:Declaration of consent for all enquiries. If their release does not contain all the necessary information, it will delay processing. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:51, 11 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
