Motive edit

The lead section of this article suggests that the 1987 planting of explosives at the North Korean embassy in Lima was a terrorist attack. However, the text of the body of the article fails to draw a political connection between the actions of North Korea and why their Lima embassy became a target and was dynamited by a group of mysterious people. While the article explains what happened, it fails to explain the motive for the attack or who the "terrorist" group was that perpetrated the attack or accepted responsibility for it, nor why the attack was undertaken in the first place. While the lead alleges this was a terrorist attack, the text of the body of the article doesn't even mention the word. Lead sections are meant to provide an accessible overview to an article. However, although the body of the article explains that the embassy was attacked, it fails to explain why the attack is considered to be a terrorist one. Additionally, the allegation that the attack was perpetrated by Shining Path that appears in the infobox also needs to be explained in the article text, so that the reader can understand how this connection was established. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 08:16, 15 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
