Note to self surrounding the names

The NZMS summary; "Tropical Cyclones in the Southwest Pacific: November 1969 – May 1979" shows that the names Una, Vera, Wanda, Zoe, Alice were used in the Australian region, while Lottie, Monica, Nessie, Pam, Tina were used in the SPAC. There was also one unnamed system that impacted Niue during November 1973. The MetMar seasonal summary provided by Meteo France New Caledonia shows that the names Nathalie, Una, Vera, Wanda, Zoe, Alice were used in the Australian region, while Lottie, Monica, Nessie, Pam, Rebecca & Tina were used in the SPAC. It also provides two unnamed systems on November 7 - 10, 1973 near Niue & February 15 - 20, 1974 near Fiji. Tropical Cyclones: Climatology and Impacts in the South Pacific by James Terry shows that the names Lottie, Una, Monica, Nessie, Vera, Wanda, Pam, Zoe, Alice & Tina were used in the broader SPAC region and that there was one unnamed system that impacted Niue during November 1973.

The name Rebecca came from what is now through the journal Met Mar's seasonal summary, my assumption is that it was named as a TC by the NZMS (FMS) but later removed. The two questions, I have to ask are what was the name starting with O & S in the SPAC that year. LOHTCN shows that S was Stella but I do not have a source for it at present. Will continue to dig.Jason Rees (talk) 21:05, 11 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
