1950 NBA World Championship Series edit

Previously the lead boldly goes, "The 1950 NBA World Championship Series ...", without explanation of or support for the distinctive name. Was the term "[NBA] World Championship Series" used in 1950 and, if so, used preferentially? If so, that should be covered in the article.

Momentarily I will change the lead to go, The 1950 NBA Finals, which routinely matches the article name per WP:LEADSENTENCE.

At the moment, the 1951 NBA Finals lead does not mention "1951 NBA Finals" or use boldface otherwise! 1952 NBA Finals goes, "The 1952 NBA Finals ...".

We now lead with "NBA World Championship Series" in 31 annual Finals articles from 1955 NBA Finals to 1985 NBA Finals articles. The 1954 and 1986 articles lead with the pagenames boldface. --P64 (talk) 19:41, 4 March 2015 (UTC)Reply
