Talk:1890 New Zealand general election

Party strength edit

With this edit, the party strength table was changed back in 2011, with "two from Other to Liberal - Maori results were 2 Liberal, 2 Independent" as edit summary. The whole affair is unreferenced, but I see that the original info comes from Wilson (1985). Party strengths are recorded in a table on pages 287f, and the votes and percentages are in a table on pages 289f. So, I could add references to the original version of the table, but the 2011 edit has changed party affiliation, and that means that the votes no longer correspond to the number of politicians. Can I thus suggest that:

  • We restore the data as they were originally.
  • I will then provide proper referencing.
  • We record the 2011 edit summary as a footnote to the table.

Any thoughts? Schwede66 17:14, 28 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
