Article Split? edit

This article combines the history of the 137th Air Refueling Wing (first activated in 1950 as the 137th Fighter-Bomber Wing) and omits its pre 1961 history as the 137th Fighter-Interceptor Wing and the 137th Air Defense Wing and of the 137th Operations Group (the original 404th Bombardment Group), which remained active after 1961 as the 137th Air Transport Group and the 137th Military Airlift Group until inactivating on 10 December 1974, then being reactivated as the Ops Group. Other operational groups assigned to the wing included the 138th Fighter Group (later 138th Air Transport Group, 138th Military Airlift Group), 139th Air Transport Group (later 139th Military Airlift Group), probably the 150th Fighter Group briefly in 1960, the 153d Air Transport Group, briefly in the 1960s.
