Talk:1,8-Bis(dimethylamino)naphthalene

I suggest we move this page to 1,8-bis(dimethylamino)naphthalene, since I don't like the idea of having the main name of a page being a trademark name of a company. All the major organic lab suppliers sell it under its chemical name. Proton-sponge can remain as a redirect. Any objections? Walkerma 05:23, 21 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

I agree with your suggestion. If no one else objects, please go ahead and make that change. Tomgally 21:49, 21 July 2005 (UTC)Reply

bad link for msds edit

The link is for the ethanol msds (the external links section refers to ethanol). Link needs to be corrected. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 70.52.172.167 (talk) 17:32, 10 December 2006 (UTC).Reply

nonsensical statement edit

Under "Reactions" - what the heck is "trimethylated Proton-sponge"? Is this a reference to the penta-methyl species? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2604:2000:7100:BA00:5B1:1D13:6547:AD86 (talk) 02:16, 26 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

I removed the statement.--Smokefoot (talk) 11:59, 26 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Not true Statement about organic bases edit

There are many stronger organic bases than the proton sponge, for example, conjugate bases of amines or even t-butanol.
