Tinsley-Wallerstein Diagram edit

The title of this article was just proposed as the name of the [α/Fe] versus [Fe/H] diagram in the MNRAS paper just published. It has not been used elsewhere by the astronomical community. The argument that it should be given this name is very good, but is original research, unsupported by publication elsewhere (not even in the paper mentioned). Wikipedia does not publish original research. I am going to undo the rejection and rewrite the article to be titled [α/Fe] versus [Fe/H] diagram (to the extent the software allows this), which is the current usage in scientific articles. It is obvious the diagram does need a name and I do vote for Tinsley-Wallerstein. StarryGrandma (talk) 03:14, 31 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

Elemental Abundance Space edit

I appreciate this change to A/Fe versus Fe/H. My honest impression is that there isn't a single thing to call these diagrams, to name a few options:

"Chemical Abundance Ratio Diagrams (CARDs)" (i.e. Lee et al (2015))

"Elemental Abundance Space" (i.e. Feltzing and Feuillet (2023), Patel et al (2023))

"Alpha-versus-Iron graph/chart/space" (just something I've heard a lot, I'm sure there are relevant citations here too)

It's also worth mentioning that, despite the history of these diagrams, "Tinsley-Wallerstein Diagram" doesn't really tell someone at a glance what the graph is about. So I think that the current title is more appropriate for folks trying to find this and understand it. In terms of compactness, "CARD" or "CARD-space" seems to be the most simple Patelpb96 (talk) 16:29, 8 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
