Eponymous lakes edit

There are two lakes in Østmarka, outside Oslo, called Elvåga (Nord-Elvåga and Sør-Elvåga). It's hard to imagine that these names are not references to Élivágar. __meco (talk) 15:44, 30 September 2010 (UTC)Reply

Source and names of Elivágar edit

Neither the Poetic Edda nor the Prose Edda say anything about Hvergelmir being the specific source of the Elivagar, as the article claims. It's simply said that Hvergelmir is the source of all rivers and that there are poisonous serpents in it. Whether one wants to see a special connection between this fountain and the Elivagar is a matter of speculation and preference. Besides this, the eleven rivers given in the article are said to be rivers that flow from Hvergelmir; again, there's absolutely no relationship between them and the Elivagar.193.33.2.101 (talk) 15:11, 8 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
