Synergy Health plc (formerly Synergy Healthcare) (LSESYR) is a global company headquartered in the United Kingdom which provides hygiene, sanitation and consultancy products and services to the healthcare and laboratory research industries. The company is listed on the London Stock Exchange and a member of the FTSE 250 Index as of September 2008.

History

The Company was founded in 1991 as a manufacturer of surgical packs in Corby, Northamptonshire. It was first listed on the Alternative Investment Market in 2001. It went on to acquire a number of companies in the medical sector including Shiloh,[3] Vernon Carus,[4] Isotron,[5] MSI[6] and SRI[7] in the United States of America. It secured a full listing on the London Stock Exchange in 2008.[8]

Operations

The Company's services include the sterilisation of reusable medical instruments, provision of outsourced laundry services, medical device sterilisation and the reprocessing of surgical linen. Synergy also distributes medical hygiene products such as antibacterial cleansers and wet wipes, swabs and bandages. Since 2008 Synergy also provides occupational pathology services and workplace drug and alcohol testing. The company operates in four regions: UK & Ireland, Europe & Middle East, Asia & Africa and the Americas.
