History edit

Eliott Jabès and Oscar Walter met while studying at the Henri IV prep school in Paris. They decided to create Stockly with the aim of making inventory a commodity by building a stock-exchange that allows e-commerce players to sell products they do not physically own.[4]

In 2018, Stockly secured its first round of funding, raising 1 million euros. The same year, the company was selected to participate in the accelerator programs of Plug&Play and Techstars.[5][6]

In May 2019, Stockly won the SCOPS trophies of the Distribution and Customer Relationship Master of Paris Dauphine.[7]

In October 2020, Stockly was selected among the startups in the "Retail and Customer Experience" cohort of the SAP.iO Foundry Paris acceleration program by SAP.[8] The company also appeared on the "100 Companies to Invest in 2020" selection by Challenges magazine.[9]

In March 2021, Stockly raised 5.1 million euros in a seed round, primarily from Eurazeo and Daphni funds.[10][11] The following month, co-founders Oscar Walter and Eliott Jabès were awarded a place on the "30 under 30" list by Forbes.[12][13]

In September 2022, Stockly raised an additional 12 million euros, mainly from Eurazeo and Daphni.[14][15] The same year, the company announced that it had reached 100 million products managed in its virtual warehouse.[16]

Functioning edit

Stockly's platform connects online inventories, enabling e-commerce merchants to continue selling even when they are out of stock by having the product shipped by another seller within the network. The network consists of several partners, including brands, retailers, multi-brand stores, and distribution networks, who send the missing product under white-label packaging. For the end consumer, the process is seamless, as they place an order on the website where they intend to purchase the item. In the background, Stockly monitors available product inventories and matches them with products before a stockout occurs.[17][18]

Partnerships edit

Stockly has established partnerships with several companies in the retail and commerce field, including Yoox, Worten, C Discount,[19] Inno.be, Conforama, Miravia, Worten, Galeries Lafayette,[20] Carrefour, Alltricks, and Jonak.
