History edit

While he was a member of Quill (c. 1968), he created the first draft for the North Drums, eventually being granted a U.S. #3603194 in 1971.[1][non-primary source needed] In the 1970s, he toured with Clamtones, who served as the backing band The Holy Modal Rounders, but eventually Roger became an official member of the H.M.R, and toured with them from 1971 to 2003, first joining the band permanently after they relocated to Boston.[2][3]

Roger's North drums have been used by several rock drummers, including: Billy Cobham, Doug Clifford of Credence Clearwater Revival, Alan White of Yes, Joe English of Wings, Gerry Brown, Russ Kunkel, W.S. "Fluke" Holland (drummer for Johnny Cash), and Richie Albright (drummer for Waylon Jennings). North was inducted as a member of the Clamtones into the Oregon Music Hall of Fame in 2011.[3]
