I moved the following section to here, because it doesn't seem to be a current event, but rather about citizenship status that happened years ago:

Former Burkina Faso President Blaise Compaoré, who faces murder charges in his native country for the assassination of his predecessor, Thomas Sankara, is a citizen of the Ivory Coast and, it's been discovered, has been so since November 2014, just after he was overthrown. His wife, Chantal Compaoré, is Ivorian. (AP via Star Tribune) (BBC)
