1952 - Following the 1951 NFL season, the financially strapped New York Yanks franchise was sold back to the NFL. The team was resurrected the next season as the Dallas Texans, but they would fold again after just one season before being reborn yet again as the Baltimore Colts.
1944 - Dan Reeves, running back and coach. As a player, he played in two Super Bowls for the Dallas Cowboys. As a head coach, he led teams to four more Super Bowl appearances.
1954 - Steve DeBerg, quarterback, played in 16 NFL seasons for six different teams; he came out of retirement at age 45 in 1998 for the Atlanta Falcons, when he started one game and was the oldest player to appear on a Super Bowl roster.
