When not using the full name "Republic of the Gambia", official documents and websites use the short name "The Gambia", with a definite article, written with an initial capital letter, as is common for proper names (see, e.g, the Constitution of The Gambia and the website of the Office of the President). The Wikipedia article on the country is also located at The Gambia. Shouldn't that be reflected in the name of the template? --Lambiam 16:14, 6 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
