History edit

The station opened on 27 December 1913 as Miyata Station. It was renamed Miyada on 15 December 1956.[citation needed] With the privatization of Japanese National Railways (JNR) on 1 April 1987, the station came under the control of JR Central.

In fiscal 2016, the station was used by an average of 350 passengers daily (boarding passengers only).[1]
