Wording edit

May I change the text to something along the lines of:

Disallow all non-admin users

or

Block all non-admin users

? I'd also like to find out a way to have the block log show up on the Special:Blockip page, much like with page protection... -Mysekurity(have you seen this?) 05:05, 23 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

Please delete the interface page so that the default message is used again, which is more in line with our other protect-level-* messages. (Note: it has improved significantly since the 2005 default.) Jackmcbarn (talk) 02:35, 24 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

2016 Tweaks edit

Most of these are technically wrong, so am tweaking them. Other than sysop, these levels are not used to "allow only" - they "require" having an access - and the grammar kludges are not keeping track with the technical means. I'm rolling in the following - please advise if anyone has a better idea:

  1. MediaWiki:Protect-level-autoconfirmed : Require autoconfirmed or confirmed access
  2. MediaWiki:Protect-level-extendedconfirmed : Require extended confirmed access
  3. MediaWiki:Protect-level-templateeditor : Require template editor access
  4. MediaWiki:Protect-level-sysop : Require administrator access

Not done @Mr. Juicyfun: administrators are "also" template editors and extended confirmed already, so it doesn't need to be called out (see Wikipedia:User_access_levels). No admins should be confused about this, but if they needed more guidance the directions at MediaWiki:Protect-text could be expanded. — xaosflux Talk 02:02, 1 August 2019 (UTC)Reply
