Loricariichthys brunneus

Loricariichthys brunneus,[2] commonly called Alcalde (Spanish for 'Mayor'), Paleta (Spanish for 'palette') or Tabla (Spanish for 'table')[1] is a species of catfish in the family Loricariidae. It is native to South America, where it occurs in the Orinoco basin in Guyana and Venezuela. The species is believed to be a facultative air-breather.[3] A species of parasitic nematode in the family Guyanemidae, Guyanema longispiculum, was described in 1996 from the abdominal cavity of L. brunneus specimens.[4]
