Lobortas Classic Jewelry House

"Lobortas" Classic Jewelry House (before 2006 – Lobortas Jewelry House) is a Ukrainian jewellery company.

Overview edit

Lobortas was founded in 1997 in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, as a collaboration among 10 designers and architects and 10 jewellery makers.[1] The company makes handcrafted jewelry, including jewels with hard-fired enamels using an ancient technique brought to the medieval state of Kyivan Rus from Byzantium.

Notable Projects edit

On July 21, 2011, the company set a Guinness World Record by inserting 2,525 cut diamonds in one ring, known as “Tsarevna Swan”.[2][3] The world record was later beat by an Indian company.[4]

In 2003, the Lobortas House took part in the leading jewelry art exhibition Joaillier Créateurs in Paris. The Wall Street Journal (Europe) described Studio Lobortas as "the most romantic at the Paris show".[1]

In July 2022, following the outbreak of war in Ukraine, the company donated several pieces for a fundraiser in Windsor, Canada, which raised over $46,000 Canadian Dollars in supplies to Ukraine, with plans to increase donations.[5] The company also donated jewellery to a fundraiser supporting a local charity.[6]
