Kotha-valasa or Kotta-valasa is a census town and mandal in Vizianagaram district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.
Geography
Kothavalasa is located at 17°54′N 83°12′E / 17.9°N 83.2°E.[1] It has an average elevation of 209 meters (688 feet).
Demographics
As of 2001[update] India census,[2] Kothavalasa had a population of 12,298. Males constitute 50% of the population and females 50%. Kothavalasa has an average literacy rate of 69%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 76%, and female literacy is 62%. In Kothavalasa, 12% of the population is under 6 years of age.
