Karl August Otto Hoffmann

Karl August Otto Hoffmann (1853-1909)^[1] was a German botanist and a high school teacher in Berlin.^[2] Author of Sertum plantarum madagascariensium, the genus Hoffmanniella in the Asteraceae family was named after him.^[2]

The standard author abbreviation O.Hoffm. is used to indicate this individual as the author when citing a botanical name.^[3]
