Saun appeared on season 1 and season 20, an all-stars season, of the series Project Runway.[2] Prior to her appearance in season 1, Saun had been considering giving up on a career in fashion in Los Angeles. She recalls lying "on the floor of a girlfriend’s apartment...and I was like, ‘God, I need a sign. Should I stay or not?” She said she received a call from the show's producers later that same day telling her she had been cast.[1] She recalls wondering whether, besides sewing, she would be required to do other then-typical reality show stunts such as eating worms.[1][3]

Saun has designed for Queen Latifah, Zendaya, Zoe Saldana, Snoop Dogg, Eve,[2] Heidi Klum, Kevin Hart, Juliana Hough, TLC, Mary J. Blige, Jaime Foxx, Busta Rhymes, Lauryn Hill, and Eddie Murphy,[1] and Jabbawockeez.

Saun was the costume designer on the Disney Channel’s Descendants franchise.[1] MTV’s America's Best Dance Crew (1-5), and NBC's The Sing-Off (1-3).[citation needed] She has a teen-oriented project, "The Fashion FairyGodmother", which gives unhoused and foster children and teens makeovers.[1][4][3]

Saun was born in Germany.[5] She has named her mother, Barbara Anne Saunders, as a mentor and source of inspiration for her designs.[1][2][3]
