John Joseph McDermott (born March 19, 1963) is an American priest of the Catholic Church who was appointed as bishop for the Diocese of Burlington in 2024.

On June 3, 1989, McDermott was ordained to the priesthood.
Episcopal career edit
Pope Francis appointed McDermott bishop for the Diocese of Burlington on May 6, 2024.[1][2][3] On July 15, 2024, McDermott is scheduled to be consecrated as a bishop.
