Jhantla

Jhantla (جھانٹلہ) is a Pakistani village in Kharian Tehsil of Gujrat District, in Punjab. Situated approximately 150 kilometers from Lahore and 17 kilometers from Kharian, it boasts lush green landscapes. The village is predominantly inhabited by members of the Sayyid and Awan tribes.

A small verdant hill southeast of Jhantla is the resting place for the village's departed souls.

Renowned for its agricultural diversity, Jhantla flourishes with various crops, most notably wheat. Adjacent to the hill lies a primary school, catering to the educational needs of the village's youth. However, students must journey a few miles to access secondary education in the neighboring village.

Each year, on the 7th of June, Jhantla reverberates with the joyous festivities of the summer mela. During this celebration, locals pay homage to three revered shrines, one of which features a grave spanning nearly 9 yards. With a modest population of around 2000 inhabitants and an area spanning approximately 3 square kilometers, Jhantla exudes a quaint charm that captivates visitors.

Surrounded by neighboring villages such as Budho Chak, Senthal, Malka, Malagar, Manglia, Golra Hashim, Kotla Haji Shah, Chak Bakhtawar, and Bhagwal, Jhantla remains intricately connected to its surrounding communities.
