Background edit

The Iranian Parliament passed a law as “Supporting Islamic Revolution Of Palestine” in 1990. According to this law, the Islamic Republic of Iran supports the oppressed people of Palestine; as well as this, it assigns a task for the boards of the directors of the Iranian Parliament to extend its support (in different ways) for Palestinians and to hold a conference(s) till Palestinians regain their rights.[1][3]

The conference 1991–2017 edit

The international conference on supporting Palestine Intifada is continued in opportune times. So far, the conference has been held six times. The first meeting started in October 1991. Then, it was held in 2001, 2006, 2009, and 2011; and eventually, the six meeting as the last conference till now held in February 2017.[1][4]

The 7th conference edit

During the initial coordination meeting of the 7th International Conference to Support the Palestinian Intifada, the Secretary-General highlighted the significance of the upcoming 45th Quds Day. Notably, we are currently observing the emergence of a novel form of resistance within the occupied territories. This resistance is entirely grassroots and independent from any Palestinian factions. Furthermore, the Secretary-General mentioned that Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah has suggested that engaging in combat with Israel may no longer be necessary, as they are seemingly withdrawing from the occupied territories.[5] He also added: The 7th International Conference to Support the Palestinian Intifada must become a tool for creating power, parallel to the hard battle in the occupied territories, we must witness a soft and comprehensive battle with the Zionists in other regions of the world and make it more fruitful.[6]

The Secretary-General clarified the distinction between a conference and a mere gathering or meeting. In the upcoming 7th conference, the intention is not only to host guests from around the world and conclude with a final statement. Instead, the invitees are expected to actively contribute in the field and transform the conference into a prominent player in the Palestinian scene. The ultimate goal is to achieve complete freedom for Palestinian land from the sea to the river. This conference aims to be proactive, innovative, and a key participant in the resistance movement.[7][8]
