The Goldring Centre for High Performance Sport is a 2,000 seat[2]indoor arena facility under construction at the University of Toronto in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The facility is scheduled to be completed in January 2015 so that it can be used as a venue for the 2015 Pan American Games that will begin in Toronto six months later.[1] The facility is expected to cost CAD$58 million,[3] with $22.5 million coming from the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities and $11 million from the Goldring family, for whom the centre has been named.[4]
Handball and artistic roller sports will be held at the facility during the 2015 Pan American Games.[5] It is one of two 2015 Pan American Games venues to be located at the University of Toronto's downtown campus; field hockey will be played at the Pan American Field Hockey Centre. After the Games the facility will be used for sport science research and will have research and teaching labs, a strength and conditioning centre, and a sport medicine clinic among others.[6]
