History
editGaleyev Gallery was opened in Bolshoi Kozikhinski Pereulok, 19/6 in the affluent area of cultural and historical significance in central Moscow, the Patriarch Ponds, in May 2006.
The gallery specializes in preserving and exhibiting understudied works of Russian avant-garde and Russian Pre-War (1910-1940) art, mainly from the private collections.[2] Galeyev Gallery follows a policy of attributing historical, rather than material, value of the exhibits and the collection. Galeyev focuses on the curatorial practices that encourage preservation and exhibition of the lesser-known artists of the Russian Pre-War art, mainly due to the lack of research and attribution. Galeyev Gallery prioritizes the focus on analysing and eliminating biographical and artistic misattributions and inaccuracies and the preservation of artistic legacy by making exhibitions accessible to a wider audience.
Each exhibition is accompanied by the publication of a catalog, which contains meticulous study of the biographical information, most catalogs feature previously undiscovered details and exploration of various styles throughout the artist's practice.
