The character of Drusilla Foer was born on 23 July 1945 in Siena.[4] As her father was a diplomat, she grew up in Cuba,[5] and then moved to Paris, Chicago, and Brussels.[6] She lived in New York City for a time, where she opened a secondhand shop frequented by the likes of Freddie Mercury and Aretha Franklin.[3] She has been married twice. Her first marriage was to an ex-boxer from Texas.[2][7] Her second marriage was to her late husband Hervé Foer.[8] She has an irritable maid named Ornella, with whom she frequently argues.[9]

When asked where Gianluca Gori ends and Drusilla Foer begins, Foer stated that, "There are no limits. Because Drusilla doesn't take up anyone's space. It's all natural."[10]

In 2017, Foer was a host of StraFactor, a late night "anti-talent" show that parodied X Factor.[11]

Foer published a novel titled You Don't Know Shame (Italian: Tu non conosci la vergogna) in 2021.[12]

In February 2022, Foer co-hosted the third evening of the Sanremo Music Festival 2022, bringing her mainstream fame in Italy. After the show, she received many offers to host other programs, but rejected most of them.[13] In May, Foer co-hosted the 67th David di Donatello with Carlo Conti.[14] That year, she was the second-most-searched person on Google in Italy after Vladimir Putin.[8]

Foer was a guest during the second evening of the Sanremo Music Festival 2023.[15][16]
