I would like to disclose that I have received compensation for creating and editing this article on Parade Technologies, Ltd. Regardless, I am striving to create a well-sourced dispassionate recitation of the company's history and product offering for general readers. SVtrustee (talk) 20:50, 12 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Notability for company edit

Thank you for reviewing my article submission so quickly. I have edited the article & citations based on your feedback, and feedback from Teahouse commentators.

Before I re-submit, I would like to address a few of the points you made. With regard to COI, I fully acknowledge that I am being paid to create this page. I *thought* I had disclosed that correctly on my profile, but if there are additional disclosure steps, I would appreciate knowing how to proceed. I am not trying to hide my COI.

Despite my disclosed COI, I am trying to create a 100% factual profile of a notable company that would be of interest to some readers. There may indeed be similarities between this article and a company website, however that does not detract from its factual nature nor relevance. The article does not advocate for the company's products vs. competitions. It merely recites company history, product categories and affiliations.

Parade is a technology company that is well-known within its industry, if not by the wider public. This is attested to by the multiple independent sources cited that specifically include Parade in their coverage of "major design houses" or product suppliers. These media sources are respectable technology journals and research firms that cover the industry; some of their full articles are only available behind a paywall. In addition there are citations of the company being nominated for awards by a global industry association.

Finally, the company is publicly listed on a major international stock exchange. I would think this fact alone is evidence of notability.

To be sure, Parade is a component in the global supply chain. As such, it is the type of relatively obscure company that would never be the subject of a major write-up in the general interest press. Is that not more reason for some basic, factual information to be available to Wikipedia readers who may seek to understand basic info on this company?

Thank you for considering this context, and I look forward to your continuing feedback. SVtrustee (talk) 15:19, 13 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

SVtrustee, thank you for your comments. I'll put a copy of this note on the draft page so other AFC reviewers can look.
A major concern I have is that it still reads like a company website with how the product listings are described and the section headers. You have a bunch of trademark symbols for company and product names, see MOS:TM and WP:IBA.
The article should also mainly reference those multiple independent sources and not the corporate website. They should not be press releases or primary sources. If you can highlight those on the draft talk page, then AFC reviewers can check that out. AngusW🐶🐶F (barksniff) 15:26, 13 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Thank you for your guidance.
I have removed all trademarks from the article, as well as almost all citations from the company website or company press releases. Citations based on public announcements from third party organizations (Global Semiconductor Alliance, VESA, etc.) remain, as I believe they are indications of Parade's notable role within the industry.
The article covers basic information about the company. I have tried to model this article on others identified as GA, like TouchWave. SVtrustee (talk) 18:15, 15 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Best 3 Citations edit

I would like to identify 3 significant citations from independent, reliable news sources that attest to Parade Technologies notability.

Digitimes, an independent technology journal based in Taiwan lists Parade explicitly in the headline or sub-head of several cited sources, including a recent [April 2023] article devoted exclusively to coverage of Parade "Parade expects sales rebound..."

Like many publications (New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal, etc.), the bulk of the Digitimes article is behind a paywall. However the inclusion of Parade in the headline clearly indicates that Parade will comprise a significant proportion of the article.

[2] "Parade expects sales rebound in 2H23". DIGITIMES. Retrieved 2023-04-27.

eeNews Europe reports on a recent Parade product in significant detail. This attests to the company's notability within the industry and globally.

[20] Flaherty, Nick (2023-01-18). "Parade samples 16 lane PCIe 5.0, CXL retimer chip". eeNews Europe. Retrieved 2023-04-12.

CNET, a reliable technology news source reports on the integration of two notable interface standards, citing the role played by Parade Technologies.

[33] Shankland, Stephen. "USB 4 will support 8K and 16K displays so you can banish another PC port in 2021". CNET. Retrieved 2023-04-15.

...and, well, a fourth for good measure.

EETimes, another notable tech journal reports Parade's contribution to another industry standard.

[23] "Universal stylus standard gains traction". EE Times Asia. 2016-10-05. Retrieved 2023-04-15.

While Parade is certainly not a household name, it is well-known within the technology industry. It is large and significant enough to be a publicly traded company listed on the Taipei Stock Exchange. SVtrustee (talk) 16:45, 13 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
