- Comment: Plainly not notable. Sources in draft do not meet WP:SIGCOV. Some do not mention the song at all. Coverage of the song itself is trivial. M4V3R1CK32 (talk) 00:22, 3 November 2023 (UTC)

"Until I End Up Dead" is a song by American YouTuber Dream and the lead single from his upcoming EP To Whoever Wants To Hear, written alongside Andrew Goldstein and Joe Kirkland.[1] The song was released by Republic and Mercury Records on June 23, 2023.[2] The song is a pop rock song that tackles the topic of death. It peaked at number 34 on the NZ Hot Singles chart.[3]
Background edit
On 30 June, 2022, YouTuber and member of the Dream SMP Technoblade died from metastatic sarcoma.[4] In response, Dream donated US$21,409 to cancer research.[5] On June 23, 2023, Dream released this song, dedicated to him[6][7], saying that...
‘Until I End Up Dead’ is about enjoying every moment that life gives you because you never know when life will end, and it’s really important to live yours to its fullest. The song is special to me because I was able to take two really serious events that impacted me and my community and put them into a song that I think is really meaningful. The passing of my friend’s mom when I was a kid and also the passing of Technoblade, one of the largest streamers in the space at the time, had a major impact on my life and made me realize how quickly life can change, and how important it is to enjoy the moment, your friends, and your family.
Composition edit
"Until I End Up Dead" is a mid-tempo pop rock[2] song that is...
about reflecting on life and appreciating the things that really matter, like your friends, family, and loved ones, because you never know when they’ll be gone, or when you will be.
— Dream, Twitter
The song is written in E major. It's main chord progression is A/E/B/C#m. The time signature is 4/4 and its tempo is 138 beats per minute.[10]
Critical reception edit
Musician and YouTuber CG5, when commenting on the music video of the song, said that "[he] would be listening to this until I end up dead". The song and it's music video also received positive reviews from fans.[11] The song also peaked at number 34 on the NZ Hot Singles chart.[3]
Future edit
This song, along with upcoming singles from Dream, will be part of a new extended play (EP), To Whoever Wants To Hear, consisting of seven songs.[12] The EP was announced along with the second single, Everest.[citation needed]
