Top Calcio 24 is an Italian regional football all-news television channel by the group Mediapason. It deals with topics about Juventus, Milan, Inter but also about Napoli, Lazio and Roma. It originally started broadcasting in Lombardy and Piedmont, but since 2024, the network spreads its night content on the 7 Gold syndication, reaching most of Italian regions.

History edit

The channel was born in conjunction with the Lombardy switch over in May 2010, and becomes one of the most important channels in Lombardy: with his 500, 000 daily contacts the channel it ranks third after Telelombardia and Antennatre.[1]

Over the years, the editor Sandro Parenzo makes agreements with other publishers to broaden the broadcaster's coverage era. The first expansion of the signal is obtain starting from 24 December 2013, where the channel gets broadcast in simulcast every day from 2 AM to 7 PM on Winga TV. This agreement lasts until 17 April 2016.

From 14 March 2016 the channel arrives also on channel 62 with a large different programming from the local channel. Top Calcio's advertising, in the national version on channel 62 in the Rete A2 multiplex and streaming on YouTube, differs himself from that of Top Calcio 24 distributed on regional muxes that cover Lombardy, Western Piedmont, Parma and its province; instead of national broadcasting, commercials are broacast on Lombardy commercial activities.

From 1 April 2016, the channel is available 24/7 on channel 62 in whole Italy. Since 15 November 2017 a copy on channel 152 called Mondo Calcio is broadcast.

From 1 December 2017 the national version moves on channel 62, leaving Fight Network, returning again to broadcast, until 1 January 2018, from 2 AM to 7 PM on LeoVegas TV and from 7 PM to 2 AM on Mondo Calcio. From 22 December 2017 it broadcasts 24 hours a day on Mondo Calcio.

From 2 February 2018, the channel started broadcasting in HD, via Hotbird 13° East satellite. From 28 March 2018, it is also available in HD on Tivùsat on channel 57.

Since 2020, the channel is no longer available on Tivùsat, while on 9 January 2022 the national channel's broadcasts end, remaining available in Lombardy and Piedmont only.

Following the reduction of frequencies due to the liberation of 700 HMz band, from March 2022 the channel changes TV frequencies and storage numbers on TV receivers: channel 12 in Lombardy, in Piacenza and its province, and a large part in East Piedmont, channel 75 in all Piedmont. Also, with the closure of Top Planet, Top Calcio 24 welcomes some productions of the Juventus broacaster into to its schedule, produced at the Turin headquarters, on air from Mondays to Fridays from 1 PM to 6 PM.

Following an agreement with the 7 Gold publishers, from 1 January 2024 the weekly broadcasts and the weekend afternoon broadcasts and evening broadcasts arrive in 7 Gold's programming, extending their signal which now reaches a large part of Italian soil. In addition with exsistent productions, the new collaboration brings the well known brand of Diretta stadio syndication, program now produced in the Mediapason studios.
