Susi Meret, a Ph.D. and Associate Professor at Aalborg University. Her primary affiliations include the Department of Politics and Society, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Global Politics & Diversity, and REGIS - Regional and International Studies research group. Susi Meret's academic contributions are significant in the fields of Comparative Migration Politics, Ethnic Relations, and the study of populist radical right parties in Europe. She has coordinated the Nordic Populism research network (NOPO).[1] and been involved in several Nordic and European projects. Additionally, she is part of the MIX - Center for Displacement, Migration and Integration, and AI for the People. [2]

Her areas of expertise cover a wide range of topics including politics and administration, populism, migration policies, Islamophobia, attitudes towards ethnic minorities, Nordic populism, and discourse and society. Her focus is on populist radical right parties and anti-Islam discourses.

She has been involved in various research projects: her recent works include "The Impacts of the Russian Invasion of Ukraine on Right-Wing Populism in Europe. "The case of Denmark" (2023), "Trade Unions and Right-Wing Populism in Europe: Country Study Denmark" (2023) [3]. "FIERCE: Feminist Movements Revitalizing Democracy," "EWA: Empire without Alternative? Autocratic Power and Inevitability in the early Roman Empire," "SEPOS: Social exclusion, polarization and security in the Nordic welfare state," "Muslims in the West and the Rise of the New Populists," and "Citizens Activism and Solidarity Movements. Meret's research output spans several forms including book chapters, newspaper articles, journal articles, net publications, reports, and working papers. Notably include chapter on "Media populism in post-democracy: The crossroads of right and left political parties" published in "Populism and the web: Communicative Practices of Parties and Movements in Europe" by Routledge in 2017 [5]

In addition to her research, Meret is active in various academic and public forums. She has participated in guest lectures, talks, conferences, and workshops engaging with both academic and broader audiences​.
