Background edit

Before this conflict, Mahmud Ghazni attacked and plundered the kangra region and its fort[2], During the sultanate of Masʽud I of Ghazni, Masʽud I of Ghazni captured hansi from tomar dynasty and other nearby areas[3], But these regions were recaptured by Rajputs in around 1043 AD, But were beaten back when besieged Lahore[4].

The conflict edit

Abd-ur-Rashld appointed Nushtigin as a governor of Punjab who was active and able officer[5].

During the reign of the Tomar dynasty, Kangra was captured by them and held under their control. However, Nushitgin, a powerful governor of the Ghaznavid dynasty, sought to reclaim the territory and assert his dominance over the region[6].

After the successful recapture of Kangra, Nushitgin solidified his power in the region and established his authority over the town[7][8]. The victory not only boosted Nushitgin's reputation as a strong ruler but also helped in expanding the territory controlled by the Ghaznavid dynasty.
