Phil Williams is an American journalist. Since 1998, he has been the chief investigative reporter at the news station WTVF in Nashville, Tennessee[1]. Prior to his position at the station, he worked at The Tennessean, where he had been a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize in 1990 along with his colleagues[2], and WKRN-TV, where he contributed to an extended investigation of the Tennessee General Assembly that culminated in the Peabody Award-winning documentary Under the Influence[3]. He has won multiple Peabody awards[4][5], duPoint-Columbia University awards[6], and the IRE Medal[7], and is also the first TV journalist to receive the Toner Prize for Excellence in Political Reporting[8].
