Nara Narayan Das Upadhyaye (नरनारायणदास उपाध्याय) born around B.S. 1521-1541 ( नेपाली: वि.सं: १५२१-१५४१) was a Brahmin scholar and Courtier of the Palpa Kingdom in 1550s. Nara Narayana was given tax free land as birta from Rudra Sen (रुद्रसेन ) of Palpa praising his knowledge on Shastras[1]. The land stretched from Sardewa (सर्देवा) , Palpa (पाल्पा) to the river banks of Ridi (रिडी), Gulmi( गुल्मी ). Inscription of praise was Sanskrit but had influence of Bhojpuri, Awadhi, Maithili and other such Languages of the now Northern India and Eastern Terai of Nepal( Madhesh).
