Michael Kayode Situ; is a British politician currently serving as the Mayor of Southwark for the municipal years 2023/2024[1].He is affiliated with the Labour Party [2] and has held the position of an elected Councillor for the Borough of Southwark since 2010[3][4]. Noteworthy are his contributions while serving as a Member of the Southwark Council's Cabinet, including the introduction of a new Domestic Abuse Strategy and efforts to address Anti-Social Behaviours with a targeted approach, focusing on community safety within the borough[5].

Mayor of Southwark edit

Councillor Michael Situ was elected as Mayor during the Annual Meeting of the Council, which took place on Saturday, May 20, 2023[1]. As part of his appointment, Councillor Michael Situ designated his wife, Itunu Ajeigbe, to serve as his Mayoress.

Previously to his appointment as Mayor, Michael served as Deputy Mayor (from May-2022 to May 2023) under then Mayor Cllr Sunil Chopra.[6]
