Makoto Ito Sensei is a 6th Dan Aikido instructor from Tokyo, Japan. He teaches at the Aikikai Hombu Dojo and is also a member of the International Department of the Aikikai Foundation. He started practicing Aikido in 1984 at the age of 18 and became an uchi-deshi of Kisshomaru Ueshiba Doshu after a couple of years.
Makoto Sensei received his 6th Dan in 2013 at 47 years of age and became a Shihan, a title of honor for senior instructors, around the same time. Since then, he has been teaching at the Hombu Dojo and traveling around the world to share his knowledge and experience of Aikido with various dojos and organizations. He is also involved in promoting Aikido to the younger generation through teaching at schools and universities.
Makoto Sensei is known for his dynamic and powerful Aikido techniques, as well as his clear and precise explanations. He teaches regular classes at the Hombu Dojo, including special classes for women and children. He has conducted seminars and grading examinations for Makoto Aikido Singapore and Gurkha Dojo annually since 2013. Additionally, he participates in various Aikido demonstrations and events, such as the All Japan Aikido Demonstration and the International Aikido Federation Congress.
