- Comment: Reads like the sort of thing you might find on a University page about him - two thirds of it just consists of his books and so on. Is there any more information about him, rather than his publications? I'd suggest culling the middle paragraph and adding headings as well, if possible. Luis Duno-Gottberg
Luis Duno-Gottberg (born 1968, Caracas) is a Venezuelan scholar and cultural critic currently residing between the United States and Spain. He holds the Lee Hage Jamail Endowed Chair of Latin American Studies at Rice University, having previously taught at the Universidad Simón Bolivar in Caracas, Venezuela, and Florida Atlantic University.
Dr. Duno-Gottberg's academic focus lies in 19th, 20th, and 21st-century Caribbean Culture. His research revolves around topics of race, ethnicity, politics and violence, with a particular interest in the politicization of precarious subjects [1][2][3]. In his writing, he calls for an engagement with the "gray zones of politics", where contentious action, criminal activities, and "the political" converge. In the context of Trump's presidency, he explored the dynamics of "hate" through academic coursework and public discourse [4][5].
