KoGaMa (real name Kooperative Game Maker[ref. requested]) is a Danish free-to-play, massively multiplayer online sandbox video game created by Michal Bendtsen, Caspar Strandbygaard, Jakob Sillese and Christian Rask. It allows users to play online games designed by KoGaMa users, in the style of the Roblox video game. Unlike Roblox, the creation of an online game requires no special programming skills.

The first alpha version was released on September 17, 2011 as Alpha1, with the first stable version following in [When?].

In this game, it's possible to build levels, as well as three-dimensional models and avatars, based on cubes. These 3D models and avatars can also be purchased on a marketplace, where the user can use golds, KoGaMa's virtual currency. You can also earn buttons (or badges) that appear on your player profile. Some items can be unlocked free of charge during events, in exchange for a coupon code. KoGaMa now boasts over 22 million players and 2.5 million levels created2.

History KoGaMa developer MultiverseAps was founded in 2010 by Michal Bendtsen and Christian Rask. The game went public on September 17, 2011 and is being released in Alpha 1.3 status.

In May 2013, MultiverseAps made a sponsorship with Click Jogos, a Brazilian gaming portal, which similarly provided a Portuguese translation for the site. This sponsorship led Multiverse to develop a Portuguese-only server, aimed at a Brazilian audience4.

On the Brazilian server, on May 22, 2015, a partnership was formed with Coca-Cola to promote Fanta through an event that ran from May 22 to June 305,6.

In 2019, KoGaMa won the "Best Live Game" award at that year's Spilprisen, an annual event organized by the Danish Producers Association, which rewards Danish games7.

In November 2017, Nordisk Film acquired 40% of MultiverseAps (including KoGaMa)8,9. By 2021, Nordisk Film had already acquired 100% of Flashbulb Games, which included MultiverseAps10.
