Killing

edit

On 28 August 1975 Stephen Geddis was near a civilian barricade during unrest on Albert street and Cullingtree road in west Belfast, an anonymous British soldier referred to as "SGM15" of the B-company shot at him with a plastic bullet from a range of around 50 meters,[1] the round ricocheted off the ground and hit him in the right side of the head.[1][2] Two days later Geddis would die from this injury.[3][4]

Geddis was the first and youngest person to die from a plastic bullet during the Troubles.
