José Luis Larrosa Chorro (natural from Elche, Alicante, Spain) born on 18th of February 1981, he is a Spanish open water swimmer, swimming coach, PE teacher and aquapreneur. He holds a bachelor degrees in Biology, Sea Science and Physical Education, a Master in High Performance Sport Training and a Postgraduate in International Education (PGCEI).

He is a swimming coach and  open water swimming coach, lifeguard, First Aid Instructor,  and Global Manager of Oceanman. He worked for Elche Sports Council from 2003 until 2018 as a Swimming Coach and Lifeguard. In 2017 he moved to Malaysia where he was former Head Swimming Coach in St. Joseph International School (2017-2019), in 2019 he started working at Garden International School as PE Teacher and Swimming coach (2019-2021) and became Head of Aquatics in 2021 (present). He was the owner of Lovexswim Swimming brand  and a swimming shop, Tiendanatacion.com, an athletic good store that sells to pool and open water swimmers, water polo players, triathletes, synchronized swimmers. He has coached the Malaysian Open Water National Team and had been Open Water Swimming International Referee under AASF (Asia Swimming Federation) and FINA for Asian Open Water Swimming Championships (Kuala Lumpur 2017) and SEA GAMES, Open Water Swimming (South East Asian Games, Kuala Lumpur 2017). In August - September 2023 was the advisor for Jakarta Open Water State Team, coaching the team and educating their coaches. Himself and Dirk Cox developed together the Oceanman Open Water Coaches Certification, and extensive 5 modules course for Open Water Coaches, that now has became 8 modules with his latest contributions.

Sport career related, he was a former water polo player (2000-2006) with the Elche Swimming Club. In 2009, he swam for Benidorm C.N. and C.N. Tennis Elche (2010-2018). Once he moved to Malaysia he continued actively promoting Open Water Swimming in the community and participating in many swimming, running and triathlon events.

He won the 2016 81 km (50.3-mile) India National Open Water Swimming Competition in 10 hours 57 minutes held in the River Bhagirathi near Bangladesh.
He won the 81 km (50.3-mile) India National Open Water Swimming Competition in 11 hours 7 minutes 6 seconds held on 27 August 2017 in the River Bhagirathi near Bangladesh.
He participated in the 45th Jarak-Šabac Marathon Swim (Plivački marathon Jarak-Šabac), a 19 km event along the Sava River in Serbia.
In 2006, he crossed the Strait of Gibraltar with the Gibraltar Strait Relay Team - Elche C.N. that consisted of Mateo Pesquer, Alejandro Caballero, Jonas Marin, Jose Luis Larrosa) from Tarifa-Peregil-Pta Acebuche. The total swimming distance was 45 km where they set a world record in 7 hours 50 minutes on 4 August 2006.
On 6 August 2008, he crossed the Strait of Gibraltar on 8 June 2008 in 3 hours 12 minutes at the age of 27.

He was nominated for the 2018 World Open Water Swimming Man of the Year by the World Open Water Swimming Association: Jose Luis Larrosa Chorro has established a foothold in Malaysia as a top swimmer, influential and popular coach who organizes short children swims and marathon swimmers for a growing field of international marathon swimmers. The 37-year-old also serves as the Global Manager for the Oceanman where his responsibilities include managing races in Malaysia, Spain, Russia, Italy, Greece, Mexico, Switzerland, Ukraine, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates. He created a novel online open water coaching platform to popularize open water swimming in Southeast Asia. For his passion and knowledge of the sport as he travels globally including new races from Brunei to Malaysia, for his ubiquitous presence at events in Singapore, Malaysia, Bangladesh, and India as a competitor, and for his podium finishes at the 81 km India National Open Water Swimming Competition in 11 hours 2 minutes and at the 16 km Perhentian Island Marathon Swim in 4 hours 7 minutes as he grows the Oceanman circuit to 24 countries, Jose Luis Larrosa Chorro of Spain is nominated for the 2018 World Open Water Swimming Man of the Year.
