The Hokkaido Nature Trail is a long-distance trail in Hokkaido, Japan. The trail is 4,600 km in length, and is reportedly still under construction[1]. It is part of the "Long-Distance Nature Trails in Japan" initiative, which was created in 1969, and is the longest of the ten trails. It was initially not part of the Nature Trails initiative, but was approved in 2003 by the Japanese government.[2] It does not have one definitive route, and is instead composed of many alternating paths and loops.
